Joe Rogan recently revealed the one sport that he believes features the fittest athletes in the world, and it’s one that he thinks he could never excel in. As the host of ‘The Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast since 2009, Rogan has interviewed some of the biggest names in combat sports, such as Mike Tyson, Jon Jones, and Tyson Fury.
Aside from his podcasting duties, Rogan is also a commentator and pundit for the UFC, a role he has held since 1997. Despite his involvement in mixed martial arts training, Rogan confessed that there is one sport where he believes he would struggle to keep up with the elite athletes.
During a conversation with guest Gad Saad, Rogan was asked if he could play soccer without looking like “a complete moron.” Rogan’s response was immediate and unequivocal: “No, No, Impossible.”
He went on to explain why he believes soccer is such a demanding sport, highlighting the non-stop nature of the game and the incredible level of fitness required to compete at the highest level. Rogan described soccer players as “thoroughbreds” with “shredded” legs, emphasizing the physical demands of the sport.
In a separate discussion with Bret Weinstein, Rogan further elaborated on his admiration for footballers, emphasizing the intense cardiovascular demands of the sport. He marveled at the incredible shape that soccer players are in, attributing it to the constant sprinting and physical strain they endure during matches.
Rogan’s insights shed light on the level of athleticism and fitness required to excel in soccer, a sport that he believes showcases some of the fittest athletes in the world. Despite his own training in MMA, Rogan acknowledges that soccer is a different ball game altogether when it comes to physical conditioning and endurance.
As someone who appreciates the dedication and physical prowess of athletes, Rogan’s admiration for soccer players underscores the rigorous demands of the sport and the exceptional level of fitness required to compete at the highest levels.
