At MagicCon Las Vegas last year, Wizards Of The Coast announced three exciting collaboration sets coming to Magic: The Gathering in 2025: Final Fantasy, Spider-Man, and a mystery set. Today, during a special preview panel at MagicCon Chicago, the company finally revealed the IP for the mystery set: Avatar: The Last Airbender.
A teaser video gave fans a sneak peek at the characters and artwork that will be featured in the set, building anticipation for its release on November 21. Meanwhile, Final Fantasy is set to launch in June, and Spider-Man’s release date is still to be announced.
The 2025 MTG release calendar also includes three in-universe sets: Aetherdrift, Tarkir: Dragonstorm, and Edge Of Eternities. At the MagicCon Chicago panel, multiple cards from Tarkir: Dragonstorm were unveiled, including the serialized Headliner card for the set, Mox Jasper. This marks the first addition to Magic’s “mox” line of cards since 2020.
Fans can also look forward to new cards and expansions from other popular IPs like The Walking Dead, Fortnite, Street Fighter, Tomb Raider, Hatsune Miku, The Lord of the Rings, Fallout, and Doctor Who. The Universes Beyond initiative has brought exciting new content to Magic: The Gathering, expanding the game’s universe in unique and unexpected ways.
