Conor McGregor found himself in hot water after sending a derogatory message to journalist Paul Healy on social media. Healy, a crime correspondent, took to Twitter to expose McGregor’s post, which was swiftly deleted by the former UFC champion.
In the post, Healy revealed that McGregor’s spokesperson had provided a comment to him professionally, only to wake up to a disrespectful message from McGregor calling him "smelly." Healy managed to capture a screenshot of the message before it was taken down, challenging McGregor to an interview to address the issue face-to-face.
The screenshot showed McGregor referring to Healy as "smelly" and a "little pr**k," prompting a public call-out from the journalist. McGregor has been dealing with legal issues recently, including a civil case where he was accused of rape in 2018. Despite not having fought since July 2021 due to injury, McGregor teased a potential return to the UFC, possibly against Michael Chandler.
Chandler, who recently fought and lost to Charles Oliveira, had expressed interest in facing McGregor in the Octagon. McGregor seemed open to the idea, hinting at a possible future fight with Chandler. The back-and-forth on social media added fuel to the speculation of a potential matchup between the two fighters in the coming years.
