Conor McGregor’s salary details for five of his UFC fights were exposed through the UFC anti-trust case, shedding light on the tremendous earnings of the MMA superstar. A report unveiled during the case disclosed the paydays of the top fighters in the UFC from 2011 to 2016, with McGregor prominently featured.
As the biggest name in the company during that period, McGregor’s payslips revealed that he raked in a jaw-dropping $25 million from five UFC bouts. His first major payday came in July 2015 when he headlined his debut UFC pay-per-view event against Chad Mendes, earning a total of $3,285,000, which included a hefty discretionary bonus of $2.11 million.
In a highly-anticipated showdown against Jose Aldo, McGregor took home $4,476,662 or $4,536,932, with Aldo pocketing $2,377,699. Despite a surprising submission loss to Nate Diaz, McGregor still managed to earn $5,576,315 before redeeming himself in the rematch and banking $5,615,490. Diaz, on the other hand, earned $2,838,158 and then $4,315,490 for their second meeting.
McGregor quickly returned to the octagon after avenging his defeat to Diaz, seizing the UFC lightweight title by defeating Eddie Alvarez and adding another $6,812,374 to his earnings. However, McGregor, now 36, has been inactive since his loss to Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021.
Fans eagerly anticipate McGregor’s comeback, with rumors swirling of a potential matchup against Logan Paul in India next year. The reported purse for this bout is an eye-watering $250 million for both fighters, promising another lucrative payday for the Irish fighter.
