Ever since the iconic Devil May Cry game was released in 2001, Dante has been known for his stylish demon-slaying skills and quick-witted remarks. In the upcoming Netflix anime series based on the popular video game franchise, Dante’s demon-killing abilities are on full display once again. However, his comedic timing could use some work as he struggles to land a joke in a humorous scene that shows his humorous side.
Interestingly, Dante’s failed attempts at humor end up endearing him to the woman he saves, who finds him more annoying than frightening. Despite his cool exterior, Dante’s lack of comedic talent adds a new layer to his character in the series.
The anime’s opening credits, set to the tune of Limp Bizkit’s “Rollin'”, set a wild and fitting tone for the show, transporting viewers back to the early 2000s when both Limp Bizkit and Devil May Cry were at the height of their popularity.
Produced by Castlevania’s Adi Shankar, the Devil May Cry animated series promises to be a thrilling ride. With Seung Wook Lee and Hideaki Itsuno on board as executive producers and Studio Mir handling the animation, fans can expect top-notch quality and entertainment.
Mark your calendars for April 3 when Netflix will premiere the first season of Devil May Cry. While Capcom has yet to announce any plans for a follow-up to the successful Devil May Cry 5 game, the anime series has the potential to reignite interest in the franchise and pave the way for more devilish adventures in the future.
