Among the skins is one featuring Messi in his soccer kit, while the other portrays a majestic lion, likely a nod to Messi’s “Leo” nickname. According to SI.com’s Amanda Langell, gamers who purchase the skins will have the opportunity to play as Messi in his uniform or street clothes, as well as embody two different lion characters. Additionally, players can purchase two pickaxes, two back blings, and two emotes separately or as part of the Messi bundle.
Messi joins a prestigious list of superstar athletes and celebrities who have been featured in Fortnite. The 37-year-old is renowned as the second-leading goal scorer in the history of major professional soccer, trailing only Cristiano Ronaldo.
